I'm glad in some ways to see the back of 2020, I lost some long term friends both to old age and covid, trying to support and help people was demanding and rewarding. Many people in Christian ministry have put the hours in this year, let alone key, frontline workers in the NHS and other services who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to help others.
2021 I trust will be a better year, Brexit is done, the covid vaccines are out, and will no doubt over time the NHS will promote the best one. There might be a glimpse of 'no calamity' on the horizon.
So what are my hopes and dreams for 2021 ? I say that rather than resolutions which I always seem to break.
My hopes and dreams are....
That the covid vaccines work
That we can hug one another again
That we don't loose the community spirit we experienced
That I continue in the way I prayed in 2020, into 2021, and beyond
That busyness does not replace meaningful times with those I love
That I continue to cook healthy food
That I exercise more in 2021 than I did in 2020
That our family gets to go on holiday !!
That our Church finds a rhythm for everyone to remain involved
