I've never been a political animal, but some things are just wrong, and I'm going to state that today.
The Member of Parliament for Reigate, Crispin Blunt has recently called for the abolition of Christian prayer in Parliament.
This is the line that got me - Blunt is suggesting that prayer is "not compatible with a society which respects the principle of freedom of and from religion". What an idiot, prayer is intrinsically linked to religion. If you don't want to pray at the opening session - Blunt, don't turn up. In fact has he ever turned up ?
Prayers have been officially offered in Parliament since 1558, and now is not the time to stop. With the ensuing Brexit, and all the weight of decision making Parliament carries, prayer is vital to the next steps of our family of Nations.
This morning I've signed a petition to keep Daily Prayers in Parliament. I hope you can do the same.

If over 100,000 people sign the petition it will be considered for debate in Parliament.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all 4 million or so Church attending Christians in the UK did this. It would send a shockwave through the Government that Christianity is alive and well in the UK.

Why not write to Crispin Blunt and object to his Early Day Motion. It might be a wake up call for this MP, not to crusade against Prayer which has been conducted in Parliament for over 450 years.
