In this Easter week we see the true depth of the offer of salvation. Jesus when He was perceived by the world to be in total defeat on the cross, was recognised by a thief next to him, who proclaimed Jesus as Lord.
Luke 23: 42-43 says ‘Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”’ (NIV)
How could someone who was being crucified be recognised as a King and make a promise of Paradise? The answer is simple. In that moment Jesus’s words spoke of a hope beyond our human, time trapped bodies. He spoke of eternity. He spoke of a power beyond our comprehension. The thief that day in his sin was hand picked for paradise; and the great news is, we’ve been hand picked by Jesus for paradise too.
Quote
Nothing in your life when you repent and believe in Jesus, will stop you from an eternity with Him.
