Neighbours at Christmas

Each year we reach out to our neighbours with little gift bags to around 70 of them. There's a little card, a chocolate some kind of Christian gift, and invite to an open house that we do just before Christmas. We also include a local social action project we all as neighbours could get behind.

This year we asked neighbours to give items to children who have been in foster care, who have since needed to leave because of their age. They have about two years then in transitional housing called 'Fabric Families'.

The response to everything has been amazing with many neighbours saying, no one does this kind of thing anymore. It really helps with the community feel on our street.

It was all a bit of a rush, but we did it anyway.

As always the early display of the Christmas tree helps get things going.
