This Christmas

Amongst all the lights, parties, sing-alongs and movies, it would be easy to be distracted from the true meaning of Christmas.

I saw this graphic the other day, which created a distinct separation in my mind and drew me to focus on the cross and not the commercialism of the season.

Of course, there are going to be presents and Christmas dinners, etc., but this image helped me to step back a bit, to consider more the birth, life and ultimately the death of Jesus.

Let's never forget that our ultimate present this Christmas is the possibility of eternity made through His Birth.

Isaiah 96 (NIV) says,

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
